The baby Robin just left the nest a few minutes ago!! I sure do hope everything goes well for the little guy. I’m also hopeful that leaving the nest wasn’t too traumatic. While sitting in my living room I heard a thud and saw a movement out of the corner of my eye. Something told me it was the baby, and it sure was. I saw the Daddy flyover to the nest with food and no little baby stuck its head out. Thankfully I didn’t see the little guy on the concrete either, as was my fear. Upon staring out the window more I found him in my flower bed next to a bush. He does blend in quite well. To me the Dad appears a bit confused as he keeps checking the nest. I wouldn’t think it would take him too long to spot the little guy.
Here is baby by the bush:

This is earlier this morning in the nest with all of his feathers finally in:

Yesterday afternoon we set a record high of over 100F so here’s the little guy panting with Momma in front:

I am going to miss watching this little bird family. It would be so neat if they come back again, and if they do I’ll have so much more respect and let them build their nest wherever they please. The parents haven’t been aggressive at all, there’s been a time or two in the last couple days I could see they were a bit anxious if I’d stare too long, but no dive bombing.
Thank you Birdie family!!
Wow, that went by FAST! I wish this baby all the best on his ventures into the “real world!” :)
It has been so fun to watch them through your pictures. I hope baby does OK. :)
